All people are personally accountable for their response to God's clear message of salvation by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. The New Testament links God's saving grace with certain responses on our part. For instance:
Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved..."
Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Acts 3:19 "Repent, then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out..."
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
